Meet Hot Artist "2Polar"

Check out the exclusive we was able to catch on " 2Polar " below.

l  Tell me in a few words, who you are. How would you describe yourself in a short story. Include where you are from and the state you currently live in

(2Polar)

I’m an underground artist grinding steadily to climb Everest Top. I bring energy to the stage and to the studio and I’m gaining knowledge and experience in different fields of entertainment and business. I am from Long Beach, California, but since 2007 I’ve been living in my new grown home of North Carolina.

I’ve suffered many losses and hardships, but it’s all a part of the story!

l What’s your stage name and how did you come up with it?

2Polar is my stage name.

2Polar is the perfect way to describe a guy who is laid back, and collected, but quick to snap in to take action. 2Polar is a guy that’s too cold with the lyrics and liable to turn up the intensity and bring the heat!

2Polar can chill with you, 2Polar can get lit with you.

l What got you into music?

Growing up my dad (pt+) would make music, and I have memories of me as a kid sitting in the studio waiting and experiencing as he did his thing on the mic! As a kid, teenager, and adult I have always loved to listen to music as it helps to get through life’s toughest times, and retain memories from some of the best! Since my brother, my father, and I have started making music, we have all found a new love for it.

l What was life like growing up?

Growing up, life was pretty busy. We moved from one side of the country to the other, and after that move we moved to multiple places through North Carolina. I was a 3 sport athlete who hardly had a break and was always getting ready for “something bigger”. Always meeting new people and getting familiar with new places. In 2011 my youngest brother Micah passed away, and shortly after my mom passed away. This was the hardest time in my life, but growing into the artist I am becoming, I am learning new ways to express my feelings from a time where I felt I had no voice, while also creating new memories and following my road to a greater future.

l Who is your inspiration? What keeps you going to get up daily and put effort into your music career?

My family is definitely a huge inspiration, as well as friends. I want to reward the people I care for in the best way I possibly can. Another huge inspiration is myself. As a kid I didn’t always believe that I could do great things, but as an adult, I owe it to that kid, and to my future self to make the best effort to leave a stain in this music industry. I want to be an inspiration to younger folks as well as people my age and older.

l What is your creative process like? What is the meaning behind

your current single?

For me the process is simple for some songs, and then a bit harder for others. It all really depends on whether I find a beat that I want to record on, or if I have a song that I need a beat for. I like to use rhymes, metaphors, melodies, intense flows, and different flows. I try to be as original as I can be and speak on my own personal life, but from time to time I might release something wild. My current single is a song called “Favorite Session” on my album “Everest Top”. The hook refers to staying silent when making future plans, so haters can’t deflect them, refers to watching out for the red flags from snakes, and the verses are just a vent session about some things in the industry world and in my real life.

l What is the name of the current single/ep/album that you are pushing? Do you prefer people to buy it or stream? And why?

My album is called “Everest Top” and it is on ALL PLATFORMS. I prefer what is best for the listener. If they want to be generous and support a grinding artist by buying my album or single, that is fantastic! If they would like to support by streaming my album, that is fantastic as well. Support is a huge plus, and I will take all I can get.

l With the industry changing so much, would you stay indie or sign to a label? Why and why not?

It is really hard to say as of now, if I was to get an offer that I can’t refuse, than that will force a decision on me. But until then I will continue grinding, writing and promoting my face around NC and other states on stage. The process makes the prospect.

l Do you feel like the music industry has went down since the pandemic? Why or why not? Where you affected by the pandemic with music or everyday life?

I feel like there is so much happening when it comes to the music industry, but at the same time there isn’t. I just think a lot of focus these days is on everything but the actual music, and that is a big issue. There are some phenomenal artists of course, a lot actually, but with that said there are a bunch of folks who all try to sound the same, and just over saturate the platforms. Not everybody will like me, but they can at least appreciate my effort and dedication to grow.

l If you were give a chance to sit down and have a business dinner with a celebrity who would it be and why?

It would probably be

l How do you balance everyday life tied into your music career?

It can get hard balancing being a full time student in a 2 year program with being a full time employee and also pursuing a music career. Performing in Charlotte and Greensboro takes time and gas money to achieve but the experience is always worth it. I just do everything day by day and over time I have good evidence of hard work to release for enjoyment and criticism. I definitely have days when I don’t want to do anything, but when I do get on it and get things done, I feel a hell of a lot better.

l Tell me about your most memorable moment in your career?

I would say my most memorable moment was when I recorded my first single “Cells Missin” because that was my first time recording in a real studio with a producer. The end result to me was great and I was more so awaken and excited than anything else.

l  What style of music do you prefer to make? Would you ever try a different lane?

My preference is rap music, but I could definitely try R&B or Rock type music at some point if the time ever came.

l Do you have a celebrity crush?

Not that I can think of right at the moment.

l Is there anyone who you would collab with right now?

Anybody who adds value to the product!

l Who is the producer and engineer behind your music?

I have worked with produces like Tae10k, Smokeboy, Que, and Jason Schaffstein.

l What are you currently working on and what is next for you?

I am currently working on music videos, upcoming projects and getting my image to the next level. I have many unreleased tracks for my own future use, and for upcoming collaborations and group projects. I am continuing to perform at different local venues and scheduled events around different cities.

l When it comes to fashion, whats your dressing style ?

I typically dress chill, jeans and a shirt with a nice pair of Jordans, or sweat pants and a hoodie with some clean kicks. Shorts and a shirt with clean shoes and a chain. Simple attire.

l If you could open up for one celebrity who would it be and why?

Whoever likes my music and thinks I will add value to the show. My music style can flow smoothly, or get you on your feet jumping. I would open for Trippie Redd or Yeat if given the opportunity.

l Any funny stories or an embarrassing moments you want to share with our readers?

Not right now.

l What would you be doing right now if it wasn’t for your music career?

Everything that I am doing now, but without that edge, and without that satisfaction of growing as an artist. No proof of time and effort put in for a product.

l What is one message you would give to your fans?

Stay Tru 2 Yourself no matter what happens or who you meet. Always give yourself a fighting chance, because once you are put in the meat grinder, it’s damn near impossible to get out. Give that childhood version of yourself a chance to live and be proud of who he/ she became.
